The Cloth Craze 3.15.09

So I have recently decided to start interviewing some WAHMs. I LOVE shopping with WAHMs and supporting them! I have known this WAHM for 6 years now. She's extremely talented and I am so happy to share her with all of you. She's just starting out with her new store, Aspen's Attic. But she has a blog that is ongoing. In her blog, you can just see her talent unwind as she is making each new creation! So to let all of you get to know Jess a little more, here she is!

What is your name? Jess

What is your husband's name? Mike

How many kids do you have and ages? Tony-5.5 and Nicky- 4.5

When did you first become a WAHM? Very recently!

What type of work do you do from your home? I knit woolies for cloth diapering, and I make baby quilts.

Why did you decide to begin making cloth diapers? I cloth diapered my two boys, and I love seeing those cute little feet sticking out of a pair of soft, wool pants... or a soaker and a tee shirt.

What is your biggest accomplishment as a WAHM? Discovering how much I love color, and incorporating that love into every single thing I knit.

What was your biggest challenge as a WAHM? The most difficult thing for me so far is NOT buying 10 lbs of blue faced leicester at a time just to dye it up. This is the softest, best fiber for spinning and knitting baby woolies, in my opinion!

To what do you attribute your success? Gena. :o)

How long have you been knitting? Since before I was 10, anyway. Not sure of the exact age.

What was the first thing you ever knit? Mittens. I knit them while watching Star Wars with my parents and I'll never forget how proud and how satisfied I felt!

Who taught you to knit? Mother tried; after that, experience.

What makes your knits different than other WAHMs? My fearless love of color; most of my woolies are hand dyed, handspun, AND handknit by myself. But ALL the WAHM's I've seen out there have real talent and I bet I've bought from most of them!

What is your favorite type of yarn to work with? My own, because I can choose exactly the weight and color I want.

Who has been the most supportive in your business? GENA!!! She believes in me, and she made my graphics, and I know she wouldn't be afraid to give me constructional criticism.

Is there anything else that you'd like my readers to know about yourself? If I can ever help you, let me know... if you ever have any questions, do not be afraid to ask!

Now that I've introduced her and let you get to know her, hop on over and take a look! Her store is just starting but you can definitely add it to your bookmarks! Her blog is also great!

If you would like to be interviewed or nominate a WAHM to be interviewed, please let me know. They don't have to be in the cloth diapering business!
